The story of food is the story of the people.
Explore the unique and authentic street food and traditional quisine of the Sacred Valley.
Food can tell many stories… cultural, social, economic, and sometimes also emotional and spiritual.
Our tour invites you to take an in-depth look at the relationship between food and the people, through an experiential encounter with the typical street food and traditional quisine of the Sacred Valley of Peru.
The tour begins with a morning of tasting in the charming market area of the town of Urubamba. We will then take a tour to the magical Inca town of Ollantaytambo. Then we drive up the breathtaking mountains of the Andes to visit an indigenous Peruvian family and enjoy a traditional festive lunch. In the evening we will return to Urubamba, to finish the day with a local dessert.
So come with me and dive into an exciting, authentic and delicious experience. Let’s go get something to eat!
I’m Liat. Life led me to this place a couple of years ago.
There is nothing that fills my heart more than to connect people to the beauty, simplicity and grace of the people that live here and their traditions.
Thats why I’ve been guiding this tour, with a lot of love and satisfaction, for two years now.
Other than that there is not much to tell… a husband, two kids, five cats… the usual 🙂
The tour was wwwowww! A culinary tour far beyond what was expected! Even as a vegetarian! Liat is stunning and conducts the tour wholeheartedly… We entered places that I would never have thought of entering and certainly not to taste the food. It was an amazing experience and it is one of the most recommended tours!!!!

There is no way to leave Cusco without doing Liat’s tour. An amazing woman, a rare tour with foods you will only eat with her. At the end, we also stay with a crazy cute family and for dessert we eat the most delicious churros on the continent. Don’t miss it!!!

I would like to recommend the one and only Liat dvir Livshits. A culinary tour in Urubamba that turned into a day full of exotic flavors for body and mind. Liat conducts the day with wonderful artistry and passion. One of the perfect days I had in Peru. Thank you!

I’ll start by saying that during the tour I ate a lot of food and some of the tastiest things I’ve tasted in my life.
I will go on to say that the food is just a fraction of what this woman brings with her. It is just a perfect excuse to join her journey, a personal, cultural, real journey.
For me, this “food tour” was a shocking turning point in the trip.
Anyway, I just really have to recommend.

The culinary tour in the Sacred Valley is a colorful journey between tastes, sights, thoughts and feelings. The guide’s cordial and warm familiarity with the characters you meet along the way transform the experience from a distant tourist trip into an encounter full of life and depth.
I feel I got a rare opportunity to really get to know Peru.

The culinary tour in the Sacred Valley guided by Liat is a highly recommended experience, for anyone who comes to Peru and finds yourself eating mostly pizza in the Plaza de Armas! We too were afraid to touch all the local delicacies, but the tour with Liat was a safe invitation to try everything!

A warm recommendation from the bottom of the heart for a culinary tour in the Sacred Valley of Urubamba. Liat, a free spirit in a magical world of flavors and colors gives you food for body and soul and accompanies the tour with exciting stories and fascinating information. For not so young tourists (like us) – the best experience we could give ourselvs! Thank you Liat for a wonderful day.

I was privileged to take part in Liat’s food tour in the Sacred Valley, to experience the market for the first time through someone who lives there and knows the people, to dare to eat from the street food, to walk through the magical alleys, to visit the wonderful family who opened their heart to us and let us take part in their customs and traditions. An unforgettable experience, thank you Liat, thank you Mathieu Nicolas and the girls.

We would like to recommend a unique experience in the sacred valley in the southern Andes of Peru. After a month’s stay in the valley villages, we got to enjoy Liat’s culinary tour. We felt how Liat manages to tell the fascinating human story of the place. The food was served in abundance and was surprisingly delicious! Thank you Liat for an exciting and fascinating day, we miss you already.
We meet in Urubamba at 9:00 am, the tour ends at the same location at about 19:00.
The tour does not include much walking. The walk is easy and mostly in an urban environment. The tour includes transportation that brings us to the places of visit.
Urubamba is the main town in the Sacred Valley, about an hour drive from Cusco. Urubamba can be easily reached from Cusco or other towns in the valley using cheap and efficient public transportation.
You can take a “Colectivo”, which is a kind of public minivan, or private vehicles that make shuttles and all leave from the same station. The price for the trip from Cusco is between 7-10 S/. All you have to do is get to the station wherever you are in the valley. Just ask where the “Paradero De Urubamba” is. We pick you up from the station in Urubamba, and return you to the same location at the end of the tour. We will be happy to assist and direct you to the nearest public transportation station.
Another way to get here is through a private shuttle that we organize. I can usually arrange a private transfer from Cusco at a price of 100 S/. It is also possible to return to Cusco with the same shuttle at a price of 180 S/. The transportation prices, as mentioned above, are divided between the number of passengers.
Of course, you can also arrive by taxi, for smaller groups. The price for a trip from Cusco is about 80-100 S/.
In any case, we will send you the exact location of the pickup place on Google Maps. dont worry, its easy.
The selection of foods on the tour is large. Naturally, vegetarians, vegans or those who are sensitive to lactose or gluten will not be able to eat everything, but they certainly wont stay hungry.
People with allergies and special sensitivities are advised to consult me before registering.
The weather in Peru is usually sunny and warm in the mornings and afternoons. However, in the evening, and when you go up high into the mountains, it can be cool. Also, in the rainy season there may be occasional rains, which cannot be predicted. Therefore, we recommend bringing several layers of clothing that you can put on and take off as needed.
I also recommend coming with closed and comfortable shoes suitable for walking. The tour does not include strenuous walking, but the mountains can be a bit muddy sometimes after the rain, and I wouldn’t want you to get those Italian high heel shoes dirty…
The tour is accompanied by an attached vehicle, so you can definitely bring handbags or backpacks that can stay in the vehicle.
The price varies according to the size of the group, because a significant part of the tour costs are fixed. Below is the price table by group size:
2-3 participants: $170 per person.
4-7 participants: $130 per person.
8-12 participants: $95 per person.
13-15 participants: $75 per person.
Payment can be made by credit card, or in cash at the end of the tour.
